With reference to the
cost, lifetime, corrosion resistant, scaling resistance, easy maintenance and
many more advantages make the plastic valves better than the metallic valves.
When it comes to plastic valves, there are a lot of different materials of
choice. It is important to know about the features of the material to know,
which one would suit your application.
Marquest needle valves
The Marquest needle valves are slender and
have a tapered point, at the end of the valve stem. The valve stem is lowered
through the seat, to block the flow. It has a very small valve that can
regulate the liquid flow, very accurately. It also has a precision resistance
to flow through the fine threading. The only disadvantage of this type of valve
is that it has a low pressure limitation; that means, the valve cannot handle a
high pressure. It also has no slurries.
PVC
The Marquest needle valves are available in
PVC (polyvinyl chloride). It is a very commonly used material. The features of
PVC are flexibility, fatigue resistance, smooth surface, non-toxic quality and
chemical resistance. It can be used in food and beverage industries as the PVC
is inert to major chemical process.
CPVC
The CPVC Marquest needle valves are higher grade
of PVS. It can be used in hot or cold water distribution, chemicals and in
sprinkler piping. The only disadvantage of PVC is that it cannot withstand
extreme temperature. CPVC overcomes this disadvantage and it can be used in
distributing high temperature liquids as well.
PVDF
The polyvinylidene
fluoride is a processable fluoropolymer. It is similar to that of floropolymer
but has greater strength. It has lower creep than other materials. It has wear
and tear resistance, chemical resistance and can be used in extreme
temperatures too.
Polypropylene
The polypropylene is a
thermoplastic material. This can be used for extreme cold fluid. It has bi-axial
strength, elongation properties, resistance to chemicals, weather, UV, ozone
and is fatigue resistant. It has all the features of PVC but can be used in
extreme cold conditions.
The application of Marquest needle valves is very wide and
in varying industries. Based on the type of the material used and the other
specifications, the needle valve can be used in many applications where
precision and accuracy are very important. It is used commonly in controlling
liquids that are expensive or that has to be used only in certain amount like
in chemical and oil industries. It is also commonly used in laboratory settings
for research and other experimental purposes. Beyond the type of material used,
there are many other specifications like the temperature, pressure and other
factors that can make a valve ideal or not fit for an application.
As your application
requires precision and accuracy, it does not mean you should choose the needle
valve. There are many other valves that provide these features too. Moreover,
there can be other features that make a certain valve the best fit for your
application. Make sure to choose the right one to get all the advantages of the
